Charger a bit tight to place phone on

Kind of tight to place phone on charger. I had the original Moto Droid and charger and loved it. Upgraded to Moto Droid X and this charger is much harder to get the phone in and out of. Once the phone is in - there is no problem. The problem is only getting it in and out of.
